Library now cleared out
by UnshackleTheChains inwell, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.
during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.
i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.

Every JW & ex-JW should hold onto their Watchtower Library CD ROM discs - and back them up!
The org is rewriting its history for the future over-over-overlapping generations of born-ins.

Is this the same case where $30m in punitive damages was also awarded - on top of the measly $4m?
According to the very last pager in the court documents.

New rules for child sexual abuse?
by formerministerial ina european jehovah's witness, who served in an important branch, has sent me the following rumor.. some serious sources are mentioned.
it clearly shake my perspective of what is going to happen in the coming months.. i'm totally shocked !.
the law firm managing all the interests of the wt has studied the problem in europe on data protection and actions on files and protocols of child abuse.

@ Burnedout - I remember reading advice on the internet for charity trustees which strongly advised them to take out personal liability insurance, because trustees are individually and collectively liable if their charity is sued.
In the UK, all elders are trustees of their congregation charity.

For Scottish folks:
Kelvinside in Glasgow is well-off, posh area which in years gone by was renowned for its posh accent.
Interviewer: "Excuse me madam, do Kelvinside residents ever talk about sex? (sacks)
Kelvinside Lady: No, we just give them back to the coal-man when they're empty.
Interviewer: Are you bothered by the rates in Kelvinside?
Kelvinside Lady: We don't have rates, just big mace! (mice)

Zing, it sounds very much that these victims have been targeted because you and your friends managed to escape.
If these scum are caught, they should never be allowed to live in society ever again

Active JW's: If asked, can you explain/defend this belief?
by The Fall Guy inas all jw's and awakened ex-jw's know, the very existence of the religion is dependent on people's belief that the "holy trinity" of the wtbts, the ccojw, and the governing body (aka the organization) were personally selected by god/christ.. 1) mr. rutherford claimed that this divine choosing occurred circa 1919, and that all anointed members were personally chosen by god/christ to be the faithful slave.
2) in 2013 this long-held, "profound scriptural truth" was discarded by apostates in brooklyn (the present-day governing body) when they personally decided that only gb members were chosen by god/christ to be the faithful slave.

@SoundofTruth - Questions are not unfair - answers which conceal truths are unfair, and that is what the org does with its literature.
@ Nitty Gritty - Par. 2 says this - "It is vital that we recognize the faithful slave. Our spiritual health and our relationship with God depend on this channel."
When God wanted people to be clearly identified as His representatives, they were! The Bible gives ample warnings about "wolves in sheep's clothing" and how to spot them;
(Deuteronomy 18:21, 22) However, you may say in your heart: “How will we know that Jehovah has not spoken the word?” When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word is not fulfilled or does not come true, then Jehovah did not speak that word. The prophet spoke it presumptuously. You should not fear him.’
Christians were instructed to test the teachings they were being given, (1 John 4:1) but as we both know, as an active JW, cannot question or disagree with anything the literature says - due to fear of the consequences.
When I was a zealous JW no one could challenge or weaken my faith, because I was a JW and had "the truth."
An offer to you both: PM me and I'll share some important Bible questions with you - and I'd like to hear your answers - questions which no JW can raise without being dragged into the elders' room and accused of being spiritually weak or apostate.
Interestingly, when I asked a trolley elder one of these questions, his reply was, "I don't want to argue with you. You can write to our Branch with any questions."
He couldn't/wouldn't answer the question in front of the young M.S. next to him. Fear of the truth!
